Scott McGillivray is a Canadian author, public speaker, and educator, as well as a well-known investor in the Canadian real estate market and television personality. His net worth is believed to be $4 million. He is well recognized as an executive producer of the award-winning Income Property series, which aired on HGTV throughout North America. He has worked as part of a team assisting homeowners with their real estate properties to be a source of income and financial stability.  

As an easy-going personality, McGillivray has influenced a multitude of North Americans to make informed decisions about their real estate and investments through his work in media and television. He is the CEO of McGillivray Group and McGillivray Entertainment, and the co-founder of real estate education company Keyspire. Scott McGillivray’s Background 

Born in Toronto, Ontario, on April 7, 1978. Early on, he became interested in business and real estate. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Guelph with an honours degree in Commerce. His successful projects include buying and rebuilding numerous rental units and converting underpriced real estate into money-spinners. In 2004, he acquired a contractor’s license by working in the field and now has full control over any future renovations without the need for outside technical supervision. He also actively supports charitable causes and is a proud ambassador for Habitat for Humanity Canada.

On television projects and network hits, he continues to be a mainstay for HGTV Canada and HGTV US/ Home Network and has recently been focusing his efforts on the high-return vacation property market. He was a guest host on HGTV’s Renovation Resort Showdown with fellow HGTV star Bryan Baeumler. 

This is a competition series, which is a big concern for the contestants, and for them, this show is a master class on designing ideas that bring high returns on investments. He furthered his career by branching out and acting as a partner on the latest season of HGTV’s “Rock the Block season 7,” which involved him in a large-scale home construction with other celebrities such as Brooke Hogan.

He built an empire, a self-made real estate business, beginning with one student rental house, bought at the age of 21 through a student loan. He currently owns hundreds of income gerntaing residnetials and commercial rental properties nationwide in Canada and the US.

He earned his honours degree from the University of Guelph in Marketing and Management, a strong foundation for his future career in the corporate world. He became licensed as a contractor and thus had complete technical control over active building sites.

His construction background has long been put to good use as he has volunteered, served as a long-time national ambassador for Habitat for Humanity, consistently served on active construction sites, and is a strong advocate of affordable, accessible homewornships for low-income families throughout the country. 

Achievements 

As a media influencer, he amassed more than 1 million followers on his social media platforms by providing insights and guidance on real estate, home improvement, and business. Won two Canadian Screen Awards in 2015 – Best Lifestyle Program or Series, and each for Icome Property. Securing the 2013 Canadian Screen Award for Best Lifestyle Program or Series at the first-ever ceremony for Income Property. 

In 2012, he founded the McGillivray Group and McGillivray Entertainment and is the CEO of both companies. In 2010, he co-founded the real estate education company, Keyspire, which has been educating so many investors. Creating a book, How to He has developed several TV shows, including Moving the McGillivrays (2016), Buyers Bootcamp (2018), and Vacations House Rules (2020), all of which have been created to grow his social media reach.
