BevTest has introduced its long-awaited Top beverage testing institute best vodkas, featuring the best of class unflavored vodkas. One of these was Elit Vodka, known for being Vodka of the Year.

The Beverage Testing Institute (BevTest) has listed its beverage testing institute best vodkas, a coveted pick exemplifying the very best of unflavored vodkas. Among those are Elit Vodka, which has been rightly rewarded with Vodka of the Year because there simply is NO vodka on par with it. I recently connected with Jerald O’Kennard, who serves as the President of Chicago-based Beverage Testing Institute to discuss highlights from the past year in trends among spirits and winner Vodkas.

One of the cornerstones of craft spirits, vodka is, as O’Kennard recently noted, “paying the bills at all price points.”

He continued, “Vodka is often denigrated for being tasteless and odorless and therefore dull by U.S. consumers of so-called ‘noble’ spirits categories and even by the drinks business that mercilessly tosses vodka under a bus because it only stretches its little budgets.” But we’ve observed an unmistakable drift to more higher-priced, super premium and luxury products that provide pronounced taste differences for those who want them in their vodka.

Elit Vodka, which was also declared Vodka of the Year by BevTest, of which O’Kennard said: “Elit is a terrific example of this paradigm even though it has dropped to $39 lately; that’s outstandingly smooth in its texture; subtly complex flavour and, naturally enough, its smoothness,”

From Denmark, the Nykur Limited Edition Super Premium Organic Jaeger Corps Vodka is equally persuasive and commands a higher price point with an extra supple mouthfeel and pristine organic flavors. The Yacht Life Vodka from Florida sails full steam ahead into the $100 horizon, with a buoyant body and stern grain-forward character.
